Married At First Sight UK was full of explosive scenes on Monday night with one contestant threatening he was 'done'.
During the latest episode, Caspar Todd was confronted by expert Mel Schilling over his body-shaming comments towards wife Emma Barnes on their honeymoon.
Viewers will recall that Caspar stunned his new bride Emma when he admitted he didn't find her attractive before dropping a cruel bombshell. He said: "I've been struggling, I don't know if you've felt it. But I haven't felt that spark I was hoping to feel,” he explained, as Emma looked surprised.
He began by telling her that she reminded him too much of his sister, and then delivered one of the worst insults in the show’s history, after Emma asked her new husband what his "usual type" was.
"I've rarely gone for the curvier person," the gardener confessed. "But you don't think I'm sexy?" Emma asked, as Caspar replied: "No." Gobsmacked, she asked him: "So you didn't fancy me and you don't fancy me, right?"
Caspar did himself no favours as he bluntly replied: "Not currently no, let's be honest." Upset by his comments, Emma later said: "I'm a size 14. I'm not a f***ing monster."
On Monday's episode, expert Mel, 52, came to talk to the couple where she confronted and asked Caspar about his honeymoon comments. Caspar admitted: "I didn't set out in this experiment to hurt my wife and on the honeymoon I did that."
To which Mel said: "Of all the things you could have said to her, why do you think you chose her body to focus on?" Taking a pause, Caspar then made matters worse as he replied: "It was my honest truth, I didn't want to lie. What I like generally in women is someone who is slightly slimmer. That, I said the truth."
Mel then asked: "Tell me Caspar, what do you say to yourself about your own body when you look in the mirror?" to which Caspar admitted he was critical over his own body, admitting: "I see all the bad bits."
This prompted Mel to point out: "Is it interesting to you then that you chose that particular issue, a person's body image, to attack in Emma? Do you see that it's a double standard?"
However, Caspar was left annoyed over the grilling as he fumed in a VT: "F**k's sake, I thought that the comments I made on the honeymoon had been put to bed and we're moving on. If they keep coming up, I'm done!"
Back at the meeting, Caspar admitted he was "fully aware" that it was double standards and Mel insisted they were going to put the honeymoon comments behind, exclaiming: "I really want to start with a clean slate with the two of you" as the couple were asked to share compliments about each other.
