James Haskell has revealed details of the incident involving him and which landed him in hospital this week.

The ...Get Me Out Of Here! star on Wednesday when he shared a video of himself in a hospital bed with his arm in a sling. The 39-year-old former rugby union player explained he suffered the injury while he and Mike, 45, attempted their own version of a social media trend in which a person spins another upside down and then back up.

While he and Mike watched the original video filmed by a couple, said: "Speed is key." The two friends then tried to perform the move themselves, with James spinning Mike upside down, but despite trying a few times, they didn't manage to perform the move perfectly.

A clip shared on the account for their podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby shows how James managed to turn Mike upside down but then couldn't get him back up. But the hilarious social media trend took an unexpected turn when James was rushed to hospital with a torn bicep and had to undergo surgery.

On the Instagram video's caption, the podcast's producers wrote: "How Hask tore his bicep......We're sorry @jameshaskell!" Many people commented on the post and many reacted with laughing faces emojis, with one writing: "Years of Rugby and a torn bicep after lifting Mike." Another added: "Almost Olympic standard guys lol."

One more said: "This wins the internet today!" Someone else agreed saying: "That's hilarious I can't stop laughing. I love it. Thank you for making me laugh tonight."

The vide was posted after James confirmed he was doing well after the operation in a clip posted from a hospital bed. He said: "On Monday I ripped off the bicep tendon off my bone on my left arm. I mean, I wasn't even training, it was filming some content stuff and the first two times it was absolutely fine and the third time I changed my grip and I just ripped it off the bone. I don't know what I thought, but essentially, without getting into details, I put 109kg through one arm and it just snapped and the sound of it is horrific."

But he reassured fans saying: "I'm in good hands, I've had surgery quickly, back on the rehab bus. I will track it obviously or show you what I am doing. I am going to still try and train when the would heals, I will still carry on with my body transformation albeit on one side..." And he declared: "I will still DJ one handed!"

Many fans and friends rushed to support James with broadcaster Will Perry commenting: "I always preferred your left arm anyway. Chin up mate." A fan added: "Ouch! Get well soon." Another added: "Rest up champ."

The injury comes just before his holiday with The former couple after five years of marriage, while their reality series Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair was airing. They were surrounded by split rumours, with the pair finally confirming their relationship status in joint messages.

As part of a lengthy post, they said their "sole focus" was now on Bodhi and "we shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love." A year on from their split, "We have found a way to do it, but it's not always great. We have really hard times with it sometimes," she candidly told Closer Magazine.

"We also still argue, there's no denying that and it'll probably be this way forever. But James and I, whatever our disagreements, are adamant that we won't weaponise Bodhi or use her as a bargaining tool." Chloe's famous dad Richard Madeley recently revealed the pair will soon be going on a family holiday to France together.

"Chloe is very happy, she and James are going to France together, they have a very happy uncoupling," the star told "It's a very civilised relationship – we see a lot of James, he's at the house quite a lot, either with Chloe or without." He added: "It’s a very civilised divorce."

James had a successful rugby career before turning into a TV star. He joined the cast of ... Get Me out of Here! in 2019. He found himself in hot water, however, as he branded his campmates "stupid". James became the fourth celebrity to leave the show and has recently launched his own DJ career. He has played gigs in Ibiza and even released his own material.
