A top Russian breast clinic is under investigation after a ‘healthy’ mother of two soon after waking up from breast .
Anna Gorelkina, 44, came round after her procedure which included with a top surgeon in St Petersburg. All seemed well at first, the mum-of-two sent her husband Yuri a photo of her clinic breakfast and then asked a nurse to help take her to the toilet.
But then, reports say, she collapsed at the Svoya Klinika and attempts to resuscitate her failed. Her husband was told she had died from pulmonary embolism and thrombophlebitis of the lower limbs, suggesting blood clots in the aftermath of surgery.

However, a criminal case into the clinic has been opened concerning “provision of services that do not meet safety requirements”, the maximum penalty for which can be six years in jail. Her heartbroken husband Yuri said: “I didn't force her to undergo this surgery, I was happy with everything. She presented me with a fait accompli.
“Her breasts were quite large. My wife said that it was hard for her to walk, her back got tired. And after two births both by cesarean, she was not happy with the shape of her abdomen.”
He said: “She had all the tests the day before, all were good. There were no heart problems and [we] never noticed any, never complained once. She was seen by a cardiologist.”
Anna had been told that the surgeon at the clinic had 25 years of experience. The Russian Investigative Committee has taken charge of the case, and their officers were seen at the clinic.

Surgery in countries like Turkey costs less than the price of private surgery in the UK and there are usually reduced wait-list times. Describing her friend and colleague, Jessica Carter said: "There’s so much to say about Hayley it’s impossible to fit it all into words. She was just unapologetically Hayley."
The UK Government for people who go to Turkey . It said: "The standard of medical facilities and available treatments can vary widely globally and also within countries. We are aware in Turkey in 2023 following medical procedures. Some British nationals have also experienced complications and needed further treatment or surgery following their procedure."
If you are considering travelling to Turkey for medical, surgical or dental treatment:
- Discuss plans with your UK doctor, dentist or clinician before going ahead
