Writing in the , Scott, 44, explains how traumatic finding world-wide fame can be for young people. Ten days after auditioning for the new boyband in 1997, he had left his family home and moved to Surrey, but he wasn't allowed to tell his now-wife Kerry where he was. When their first single Slam Dunk (Da Funk) hit the top 10, life changed "instantly".

He recalled feeling like Liam, that the only safe place was to be locked in a room with a mini-bar, adding that although he "batted away" drugs, they were constantly on offer. Being hounded by fans, he couldn't leave the hotel rooms without armed guards, recalling a time when he was in Tokyo, and couldn't go shopping without windows getting smashed so people could get to him.

Scott writes: "I’ve got a really stable life now but I still have counselling because of stuff with the band, even now, 23 years later. IIt doesn’t seem like record labels have learned from their mistakes. They’re certainly looking after your money but they’re not looking after you."

Liam fell from the third floor of a hotel building in the Argentinian capital. Police, firefighters and ambulances were seen outside of a hotel building after Liam tragically fell. Police are said to have been called to reports of a man acting aggressively at the hotel who could be under the effect of drink or drugs.

A body was found in an internal patio of the hotel. The police were called to the hotel by the hotel manager. It's believed that Liam fell from around 13 or 14 metres and suffered "very serious injuries incompatible with life." While City ambulance service provider spokesman Alberto Crescenti said he had fallen around 40 metres and suffered “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”
