Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka declined an interview request on the Spanish Grand Prix grid, in contrast to his England colleagues Harry Kane and Dan Burn who were open to a chat. Nico Rosberg, the former F1 champion turned pundit, remarked that Saka came across as "not very friendly" following the cold shoulder.
Moments before, former striker and England skipper Harry Kane had engaged willingly with Simon Lazenby and Rosberg for a bit of banter during the iconic Formula 1 grid walk. They were substituting for Martin Brundle who was absent from Barcelona for the weekend.
It's typically anticipated that visitors on the grid will share a quick word or two when broadcasters come calling, yet it appeared Saka missed that unwritten rule during this encounter. Attending with his national squad teammates before their World Cup qualifier against Andorra, Saka wasn't inclined to play ball.

"Bukayo, can we have a quick word? We're live on Sky at the moment," Lazenby said while approaching the star. However, Saka offered nothing but a brief glance towards the camera, followed by a head shake, and went so far as to tell the Sky presenter: "Not much to say."
With no further ado, Lazenby took the brushed-off encounter in stride, responding with: "We'll move on, then," and chuckled lightly, reports . Meanwhile, Rosberg didn't hesitate to express his critique: "That was not very friendly," mirroring the sentiments of some fans lighting up social media in response to Saka's snub.
One user commented: "Nico Rosberg shading Bukayo Saka for not talking on the F1 grid was not on my 2025 bingo card," Another post read: "Bukayo Saka winning no fans by refusing to be interviewed whilst on the F1 grid."
Meanwhile, a third fan noted: "And that should be the last time Bukayo Saka gets invited to the F1 grid."
In contrast, Kane provided some pre-race commentary to Sky Sports. When approached by a reporter, Kane said: "I'm good, I'm hot. First [time at an F1 race], I'm looking forward to it, I watch the F1 as much as I can, a few of the English guys are doing well this season, so I'm looking forward to seeing them."
When asked about who he was supporting in the race, Kane revealed: "Lando [Norris]! I mean, he's been doing great this year and obviously he's got a great chance to win the championship, so I hope he can get himself in front today and of course George [Russell] and Lewis [Hamilton], it'd be good to see them all on the podium."
Norris secured a second-place starting spot, behind his team-mate Oscar Piastri. The McLaren team secured a front-row lockout at the Spanish Grand Prix for the first time in 27 years, the previous occasion being the 1998 Spanish Grand Prix when Mika Hakkinen and Brit David Coulthard took first and second, respectively.
