Amazon's newest Kindle is here and you can read in colour for the very first time

Kindles are the popular e-readers which let bookworms, download and read their favourite novels from the sleek digital devices. Now Amazon has launched a wave of new models to its well established stock, including the standout

As the name suggests this 2024 model brings exactly what it says (and looks like) on paper. For the first time ever readers can read with a Kindle in a soft, 'easy-on-the-eyes' colour. And UK fans cantoday.

Now available on Amazon, the eye-catching 32GB model can be pre-ordered for £269, before the wave of early orders are shipped to shoppers from October 30. Days after its launch it's already in demand, listing as a '#1 best seller' on Amazon the first ever colour Kindle may prove popular.

"The all-new Kindle Colorsoft brings colour to Kindle without compromise", say Amazon as it adds the welcomed colour to tis e-reader pages. The model also has fast page turns, an auto-adjusting front light and a weeks battery life.

Showing off its new Kindle line-up, Amazon shares the details behind its first-ever vibrant colour model, saying it's been 'meticulously designed to deliver rich, paper-like colour'. As they explain: "It uses an oxide backplane with custom waveforms for fast performance and higher contrast on both colour and black-and-white content.

"Its custom Colorsoft display includes a new light-guide with nitride LEDs that, when combined with our custom algorithms, enhance colour and increase brightness, all without washing out details." As well as it's new easy on the eyes upgrade the Coloursoft model also comes with nifty features like wireless charging and a sturdy battery life.

It's not the only new model available. Amazon has also brought out a reimagined - yes, this is the model you can write and make notes on - a new speedier version of and green colour.

Kindle isn't the only way to read e-books you can buy the Kindle alternative, A perk to the Kobo alternative, over Kindle, is that it e-reader downloads aren't restricted to its own app like Amazon Kindle.
