A Place In The Sun's Craig Rowe on how long filming really takes and if phone calls are real

A Place In The Sun star Craig Rowe has spilled all about the popular Channel 4 property show amid its return to screens.

The presenter and property expert has shared some fun facts that fans typically don't get to see and shared his excitement about being back for a new series.

Talking exclusively to the Mirror about fun behind-the-scenes details, Craig said: "There's quite a few actually! Whenever I meet people, when people recognise me from A Place In The Sun, it could be on the tube, it could be in the supermarket, it could be in the street and people often say: 'How long does it take to film an episode?'

"And I tell them we take four days property hunting, then we have the day when we make the phone call, so basically it takes four and a half days to film each episode. Most people are really surprised about that!

"Obviously in the show, we never say it's one day but it looks like one day because we wear the same thing for the whole time. We don't change outfits until the last day as we just feel it would be distracting to keep having different clothes.

"Also, we'd have to pack a whole wardrobe so it's just easier to wear the same outfit each day. So on TV, it almost looks like it's one day so people are often quite surprised when they find out it takes four and a half days."

Elsewhere, Craig revealed another detail fans are always surprised at. The bubbly presenter said: "If I had a pound for every time someone says to me: 'At the end, that phone call from the agent, is it real?' Everyone asks me that question.

"I'm like: 'What do you think we do? Make it up?' It's a reality show," he added, confirming that the calls are very much real.

On Tuesday's episode of A Place In The Sun, Craig helps retired couple Andrew and Robyn find a holiday home in Crete, Greece, where they can enjoy their hard-earned downtime with a budget of £250,000.

Talking about the new series and episode, Craig said: "It's really exciting. We spend so much time filming the episodes and travelling to different places.

"It's always really exciting when it finally goes out and people get to see it. For me, personally, I get to sort of relive the experience and I stay in touch with most of my house hunters so for them as well seeing it is really good."
